About us
Our history stems from our founder and director, Ben Paterson, starting
his career in horticulture officially in 2003 taking on a role as a team
leader in a horticulture company in his home city of Melbourne. He was
able to use this as a springboard to move around the industry allowing
him to learn every facet of the trade. He has a strong background in
sports turf maintenance and open space management, both of which he is
still incredibly passionate about. Fast forward to November 2011 and Mow
and Go Gardening was born, later to be restructured as Sydney
Commercial Outdoor Maintenance to change direction of the business to be
more suited to commercial style contracting. The name has since been
simplified and we now simply go by SydCOM.

Ben has been in the trade for almost 20 years and counting. In this time there has been floods, fire and everything in between, challenging times to be a horticulturist to say the least. Above and beyond his trade, he has many trade qualifications and certifications and is well known and respected in the industry. Learning and teaching is a passion that has been ingrained in Ben during his career, he is constantly researching and studying while making sure his staff are at the top of their game through upskilling with seminars, training days and formal courses.
